Narrator: In this video, you'll learn how to buy and sell stock on the thinkorswim® mobile app for Android. To begin, pull up a stock by searching for a symbol or selecting a symbol on a watchlist.
Tapping a symbol takes you to quote details. At the top of the screen, you can see the current quote, including the bid and the ask.
To place an order, click Buy or Sell to open to the Order Editor. For this example, we'll create a buy order; to change to a sell order, tap the direction. Let's create a Limit Order and make it Good Till Canceled.
Tap the shares to adjust to your desired quantity on the order.
Next, set the price. If the lock is open, the price will move with the market.
To manually edit the price, click the trade price, enter a value, and the price will lock.
If there are multiple accounts linked, select which account to place the trade in. To customize the Order Editor, select the gear wheel. You can add or remove any widget and arrange their order. Click the back arrow to return to the Order Editor.
Make any adjustments to the order then, tap Review. Here you can see the current quote on the stock, along with the details of your trade.
If you're not ready to send your order you can select Save. Once you are ready hit Send.
This will take you back to quote details.
To view all orders, open the main menu and select Orders.
In the Order Book, you can view working orders along with Filled, Saved, and Canceled.
Never miss a trade with thinkorswim mobile.
