To finish setting up your TD Ameritrade SEP IRA plan at Schwab, you will need to complete and sign your Employer Plan Agreements. This will help Schwab identify you as the employer of your plan and enable you to make contributions to your plan.
Here's how to finalize your account set-up.
To fill out the required forms, click the "Complete now" button below. You'll be asked to provide your email address, which will trigger an email from Tooltip . The email will guide you to sign and return the forms electronically.
You will be asked to:
- Fill out the new Schwab Tooltip plan documents.
- Tell us about your company, the business owner(s), and company tax ID.
- List your employees on the Transmittal form provided and their new Schwab SEP IRA account numbers.
You will need the following information:
- Your SEP IRA plan document (IRS Form 5305-SEP)
- Your company's owner(s), EIN, and address
- Your employees' new Schwab SEP account numbers, which they will need to provide to you

- The Schwab SEP IRA Adoption Agreement
- The SEP IRA Basic Plan Document contains additional information on the legal provisions referred to in the Adoption Agreement.
- Now that your transition to Schwab is complete, the Adoption Agreement plus the Basic Plan Document will replace the similar IRS Form 5305-SEP used at TD Ameritrade.
- The Employer Agreement
- This form allows Schwab to identify you as the business owner offering the SEP IRA plan.
