Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Trading Vehicle Schwab came with Streetsmartedge which is simply the best. It takes a little time to learn the program, but there are so many sources of help that one learns quickly. Once the program is learned, it is the best. I don't know what else it provide that I would need; other than to pick nothing but winners for me. Ha.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adding a few simple features would make all the difference. Overall, I think Schwab is a solid tool for trading. Options for buying and selling are explained well, which is especially helpful for a beginner. There are 2 things that would really improve overall usability. I do not like the functionality of your watchlists. It seems that I have to manually enter the stock symbols into my list, even when I am viewing the stock symbol that I want to add. Why not add a simple button/drop down that would allow the user to add the symbol directly to the watchlist without having to rekey it? The other thing that I would like to see is the ability for a user to easily sell all, sell 75%, sell 50%, or sell 25% of a stock that they own. The same is true in reverse. Why not offer a quick buy max option that would automatically calculate the total amount that you can buy with the cash you have on hand. This would save the user some steps if they simply want to exchange all of their cash for a particular stock or vice versa.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from TERRIBLE PLATFORM! I have traded options for over 20 years. I was migrated into Schwab from OptionsXpress where I had traded for 15 years with very few, if any, problems. Schwab has lost me as a continuing customer as soon as I am able to investigate other companies. I have seen absurd values on my account and am now locked out of trading because I "supposedly" have money due on a CASH account trading only options. IMPOSSIBLE since I have no margin that I trade against! This is the latest of an ongoing comedy of problems since their acquisition of OptionsXpress. THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONALLY RUN COMPANY!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Improvements recommended Schwab has unnecessarily failed investors in favor of traders, who provide greater returns from fees. While Streetsmart Pro was appropriate for traders, while optimal for investors, Streestmart Edge is appropriate only for traders. I constantly asked that Schwab leave Pro as is, without updates, yet was not paid attention to and can no longer trade optimally, which I could with Pro. I have been forced to seriously consider either leaving Schwab totally, or keeping my account with minimum trading and do my investing and trading elsewhere. The elimination of Pro truncated my plan to bring all my resources to Schwab. Now I have 4 different places to do my trading with the purpose of exploring to determine the most efficient and friendly alternative henceforth. Edege has many problems, all of which I have commented to staff without ever receiving feedback. Will present a few. The trading window is inefficient and troublesome because its creators insist in fixing a default not subject to adjustment by traders, delaying trading in addition to causing great frustration by having to deal with the default every time a change is made to a planned trade. Another problem has to do with space, by not permitting the trader to adjust the watch lists and layouts to his/her preference, such as the useless and unnecessary space taken by the Symbol link, among other issues. An additional inconvenience is the excessive vertical space taken by both the watch list and the trading window, unnecessarily leaving open space uselessly. I have two monitors, each 23 inches. I could place many more columns vertically and rows horizontally with Pro than with Edge. Edge is not match to the "friendliness" of Pro. There is no reason for limiting the layouts to only two shades, light and dark, when gray is a good alternative, as well as many other colors. Finally, although not related to Edge, Schwab should seriously look into its inability to provide the correct prices in situations like the one experienced on February 5, to cite the latest example. I was called by Schwab staff to alert me that my account was under alert with a margin call which was really inexistent ("fake" news to use the language in fashion) since the numbers were wrong, as I explained to the caller, who did not know what I was talking about, reluctantly agreed, but insisted that if I did not take action the responsible staff members were likely to do so. This forced me to made unnecessary trades causing me losses that could have been avoided..

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Street Smart Edge I spent half the morning trying to download the platform on a Mac. The tech support people were great. But, you shouldn't need tech support to download a trading platform. I give it an "F" in terms of user-friendliness. I am also updating my watchlist and can't delete some of the positions. It's as though they are frozen in there. It just shouldn't be this difficult. The platform also froze completely forcing me to shut down the computer. Logging back on was not easy either. You have to read the fine print on the Schwab home page just to locate the platform!! I need to spend my time trading instead of trying to make sense of a system/platform which should be SELF-EXPLANATORY. Perhaps I will use your competitor's platform?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from All-in-One- trades I have been using Schwab for many, many years. I recently was told by their rep I could use All-in-One to make trades and stops. However, it is a two step procedure and using this site to buy-or-sell market orders and also put a stop on it at the same time is not possible. It has to be a two step procedure- and should be renamed to All- in Two Steps. Otherwise, they do well.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to find StreetSmart; and why do I have to nav thru 4 pages to find my current stock trades? Difficult to find StreetSmart; and why do I have to navigate through 4 pages before I can see my current stock and option trades? Add to that some very lousy fills ("market" trade immediately filled WAY above the ask, which remained stable before, during and after the trade!); slooooow fills on high volume options, etc.; I am disappointed.
