Upbeat music plays throughout.
The clip begins with a static top-down shot of a desktop, part of a plant, part of a coffee cup, part of a tablet, and a notepad with "To do list" written on top.
Then we see "Find mutual funds" animate on the page underneath "To do list" next to an unchecked box.
To find mutual funds or exchange-traded funds that fit your specific criteria, the Fund Finder simplifies the process with easy-to-use filters.
The frame cuts to a full screenshot of the Schwab.com client Account Summary page. Personal Value, Day Change, and 6 Month Change appear above a graph.
To access Fund Finder, roll over "Research" and click "ETFs" or "Mutual Funds."
We see the cursor roll over "Accounts" in the main nave and click "Open an account."
From this page, click "Find ETFs and Mutual Funds."
A new page loads and the cursor clicks "Find EFTs and Mutual Funds."
As you scroll down, you'll see a list of all available funds with various types of criteria preselected. You can narrow your search by unchecking boxes for certain criteria.
A new page loads and scrolls down. The cursor selects criteria boxes on the left hand side, and the number of results shrinks with each additional criteria removed.
Or, if you want to start a search for only specific criteria, you can deselect all and start checking boxes that fit your needs. You can then organize your list by description, product type, transaction fee, or other features.
The cursor deselects "All" and then chooses just a few criteria. The cursor then hovers over each organization field option as it is mentioned.
You can also select up to five symbols from the list to compare side by side in more depth.
The cursors chooses several symbols from the list and clicks "Compare" at the bottom of the page. A new page loads and we see additional details for each of the chosen stocks side by side.
When viewing mutual funds, you'll notice a "Featured Funds" section at the top of the page. This section promotes mutual funds that meet your criteria and are managed by Charles Schwab Investment Management, Incorporated and T. Rowe Price, which compensates Schwab to market and promote their mutual funds.
We transition back to the screener page and see a highlight around an area showcasing Featured Funds from Schwab and T. Rowe Price.
Eligible mutual funds must meet additional screening criteria to appear in "Featured Funds," including a Morningstar Rating™ of four or five, be available for purchase at Schwab with no transaction fee (though a service fee may apply), and be open for purchase to all investors.
We cut back to the top-down shot of the desktop, zoomed in a bit closer to "To do list" in the notebook. We see a checkmark animate in the box next to "Find mutual funds or ETFs," indicating the task has been completed.
We cut to a dark blue background with text that reads "Visit Schwab.com/HowToCenter for more videos."
The screen fades to the Charles Schwab logo with the following disclosures beneath:
Investment Products: Not FDIC-Insured * No Bank Guarantee * May Lose Value
Featured Funds promotes mutual funds managed by Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. (CSIM) (Affiliate Funds) and mutual funds from T. Rowe Price, which compensates Schwab to market and promote their mutual funds. Schwab will show at least one Affiliate Fund and one mutual fund from T. Rowe Price if they meet the screening criteria described below. Other mutual funds are not eligible to be shown in the Featured Funds section, even if they are available for purchase at Schwab. Mutual funds become eligible for Featured Funds because of Schwab's financial relationships with Affiliate Funds and T. Rowe Price, which creates a conflict of interest. Schwab receives compensation from T. Rowe Price to market and promote their mutual funds, in addition to shareholder servicing fees the mutual fund company pays to Schwab. Schwab's affiliate, CSIM, receives investment advisory and/or administration fees in connection with the Affiliate Funds, and Schwab receives shareholder servicing fees in connection with certain of the Affiliate Funds. To read more about our relationships with mutual fund companies, please visit: https://www.schwab.com/legal/financial-and-other-relationships.
Eligible mutual funds must meet additional screening criteria to appear in Featured Funds, including a Morningstar Rating™ of four or five, be available for purchase at Schwab with no transaction fee (a service fee may apply), and be open for purchase to all investors. Transaction fee mutual funds are not eligible to be included in Featured Funds. This creates a conflict as Schwab receives more compensation for shareholder servicing from mutual funds made available at Schwab with no transaction fee than mutual funds with transaction fees.
Featured Funds will only display results when three or more eligible funds meet the selection criteria. If eligible, at least one fund from T. Rowe Price and one Affiliate Fund will be displayed. If they meet the above eligibility requirements, Featured Funds will include two active funds and two passive funds (https://www.schwab.com/etfs/mutual-funds-vs-etfs) in the results. Funds on the Schwab Mutual Fund OneSource Select List® (the Select List) will be listed first. Schwab's Select List is developed and overseen by Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc., following specific criteria and methodology described at https://www.schwab.com/expert-fund-picks. Other funds will be sorted next in ascending order by prospectus net expense ratio, in descending order by Morningstar Overall Rating™, and then in ascending order alphabetically by ticker. Investors can input their own criteria, which will adjust the view to show different results.
Featured Funds is not a recommendation, is not directed to any specific investor, and is not based on any investor's particular investment needs. Other mutual funds that are not eligible for Featured Funds but that are available through Schwab may better meet your investing needs, including mutual funds for which Schwab charges a transaction fee.
