Two-Step Verification is an online data protection method that creates an additional step to verify a user beyond a user name and password.
This involves something you know, like your login credentials, plus something you possess like receiving a verification text message on your phone, to doubly ensure your identity.
When you attempt to log into your Schwab account, we’ll prompt you to complete an additional method of authentication.
We’ll do this by sending an Access Code to one of the methods of contact you previously set up.
These include text message, email, automated phone call, or by directly contacting Schwab, whichever is most convenient.
Once the access code is entered, you’ll have the option to allow Schwab to trust, or remember, that particular device going forward.
That way, you won't need to enter an access code the next time you log in, which is particularly helpful if you're on a device you use frequently, like a personal computer, smart phone, or tablet.
Keeping your data safe is always our highest priority.
