Narrator: To get started, go to schwab.com and navigate to Transfer & Pay. Then click Move Account to Schwab.
From here, you'll be able to request a transfer of your non-Schwab investment and retirement accounts, including cash and securities like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Before getting started, it's important to understand that some accounts may be ineligible for transfer, such as accounts with certain restrictions. Additionally, only authorized parties on an account can request an account transfer.
To begin making an account transfer, search for the firm you're transferring the account from or select a firm from the list below.
Then, select your account type and enter the account number for the financial institution you're transferring from. Choose which Schwab account should receive the assets, then select Continue.
Next, you'll have the option to select whether you'd like to transfer the entire account, or only specific securities and cash amounts.
For this example, we'll be transferring the entire account.
Once you verify the account holder information, select Continue.
In some instances, transfers will require further review to determine if the transfer can be processed. If so, you will be provided with a prefilled form to print, sign, date, and submit via the Schwab Message Center, by mail, or in person at a local branch.
If no additional documents are needed, you'll instead be prompted to review the Terms and Conditions, select I Consent to each agreement and click Submit Transfer to begin your transfer request.
