Ken Pennington, CFA, leads the research effort on alternative investments including private equity funds, private credit funds, real estate funds, hedge funds, and exchange funds. His team performs quantitative and qualitative evaluation of alternative investment managers. Ken also writes research articles for Schwab clients and represents Schwab's point of view on alternative investments.
Ken's career in alternative investments spans more than 20 years. Before joining Schwab in 2020, he was the chief risk officer for Cowen and Ramius, a multi-strategy hedge fund. He holds an MBA in Finance from New York University, a B.A. in Economics from Syracuse University, and is a chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
