Narrator: When selling a stock on Schwab.com, you have the ability to select specific lots at the time of trade. In this video, we'll show you how to do this using the All-In-One Trade Ticket, but you can also do this when using SnapTicket. To begin, select Trade, and then select All-In-One-Trade Ticket.
Trade, then All-In-One Trade Ticket is selected.
Narrator: Enter the symbol for the security you would like to sell. If you're looking to sell a specific lot, make sure you select a security with multiple lots available in your account.
A symbol is entered.
Narrator: Then, enter the desired quantity of shares and select Sell in the action drop-down menu.
The share quantity is adjusted, and Sell is selected.
Narrator: Next, you'll need to select the cost basis method by clicking the link displayed below Action and Quantity. Select Specified lots from the popup menu to choose which full or partial lots you would like to close with this order.
Cost basis method link is selected, then Specified lots is selected.
Narrator: Once selected, the available lots will automatically populate. Enter the quantity of shares you would like to sell next to the relevant lot and select Update.
A share quantity is entered next to one of the lots displayed.
Narrator: Your Cost basis method has now been updated to Specified lots. Click on Review Order to proceed with confirming the order details to place your trade.
Review order is selected.
