Steven Greiner leads the Schwab Equity Ratings team within Schwab Center for Financial Research. His responsibilities include managing the team’s activities in regard to model upgrades, maintenance, production, operations and new product development. Greiner has more than 20 years of experience in in portfolio management, quantitative strategy development and multi-asset class risk modeling and nearly 30 years of experience in applying statistical methods across a variety of disciplines. He is the author of two Wiley Series in Finance books, "Ben Graham was a Quant" and "Investment Risk and Uncertainty" and sits on the editorial advisory board for the Journal of Portfolio Management. Greiner has held positions as the head of quant strategies for several firms and has experience as a portfolio and hedge fund manager. Greiner received his bachelor of science degree in mathematics and chemistry from the University of Buffalo and his master of science degree and doctorate in physical chemistry from the University of Rochester. He also attained postdoctoral experience from the Free University Berlin, Department of Physics.
