James D. Peterson

Ph.D, Senior Vice President, Chief Investment Officer, Charles Schwab Investment Advisory, Inc.

Peterson is the portfolio manager for Schwab Managed Portfolios™ and head of the Investment Manager Research department. Prior to joining Schwab in 1998, Peterson was an assistant professor of finance at the University of Notre Dame. He was voted "Outstanding Teacher" in BusinessWeek's "Guide to the Best Business Schools" in 1997 and has been published in several leading academic and professional journals. Peterson received his Ph.D. in finance from Louisiana State University.
