Investment Goal and Strategy

The portfolio is designed to provide investors with exposure to a broad mix of equity investments in one fund. The portfolio's target allocation is 100% in stock investments.

Expense Note: Schwab and the investment adviser have agreed to limit the "net operating expenses" (excluding interest, taxes and certain non-routine expenses) of the Portfolio to 0.50% for so long as the investment adviser serves as the adviser to the Portfolio. This agreement is limited to the Portfolio's direct operating expenses and, therefore, does not apply to acquired fund fees and expenses, which are indirect expenses incurred by the Portfolio through its investments in the underlying funds. This net operating expense agreement may only be amended or terminated with the approval of the Portfolio's Board of Trustees.
