Schwab Sweep Money Funds

Print

NOTE: Schwab sweep money funds are limited to international accounts, Schwab Managed Accounts, Schwab Charitable accounts, and certain existing ERISA plans.

Schwab Sweep Money Funds are designed for use in conjunction with certain Schwab brokerage accounts. Clients who qualify can designate a sweep money fund as their account's primary fund. Uninvested cash balances will be invested automatically in that primary fund, according to the terms and conditions of the client’s account agreement.

Features include:

  • Investors who meet eligibility requirements* can enroll in a service to sweep uninvested funds to a taxable or tax-advantaged money market fund.
  • At the end of each business day, the service automatically “sweeps” uninvested cash into a money market fund.
  • Funds are automatically liquidated when you need funds in your account to settle trades, or withdraw funds for non-trading purposes.
  • For clients not eligible for sweep money market funds, Schwab offers other cash features.

While sweep money funds are not available to all investors, purchased money funds are available.
