Schwab Global Investing Account Options

The following global products can be traded in a Schwab brokerage account:

  • Mutual funds and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) investing in international securities
  • American Depositary Receipts (ADRs)
  • Foreign over-the-counter securities
  • Stocks of foreign companies trading on foreign exchanges (broker assisted)

If you are already a Schwab brokerage client you can begin trading global products today. If you aren't, open a brokerage account  now.  

The Schwab Global Account allows clients to trade foreign securities online in real time directly in twelve top countries. And, transactions are made in the local currency.

A separate Schwab Global Account application is required to open an account. Schwab Global Accounts must be linked to a Schwab One account.  See the table below to determine the proper application to complete.

…use the Schwab Global Account Add-On Application
  • If you don't have a Schwab One account…
…use the Schwab Global Account Combo Application

The Schwab Global Account is limited to individual and joint account registration types and U.S. residents living in the United States.
